TF Arrangements
Mar 27th
Below are my usual arrangements for TF. Everything in life of course is negotiable for the right shoot or the right person, but unless previously agreed otherwise, this is how I normally work on TF:-
- TF is a collaboration. To me this does not mean that the photographer pays for travel, location hire, gives a donation towards clothes and make-up, can’t add a logo to an image or needs to give the model 200 edited images from a 1 hour shoot. Hopefully that sounds reasonable.
- I will **NEVER WITHOUT EXCEPTION** give you all images from the shoot. Some will be crap, some badly More >
Body Paint Rehearsal – “Aliens in Stroud”
Mar 18th
And finally …. the Alien from Stroud.
After a hectic week, I have finally got around to editing the Alien shots from the practice body painting session at Stroud College. The creator of this design is John Davis the infamous artist from deepest and darkest Wales – http://johndavisbodyartist.webs.com/ John is a marvel to watch at work and his results speak for themselves. Not very often do you meet someone this talented who is also a great guy to get along with. This is the 2nd time I have worked with John in the last few months and I look forward to more More >
Artemis’ Studio Day
Mar 6th
A couple of edits from today’s shoot organised by Artemis_D5……
I am off for a couple of days now, so thought I would do a couple of quick edits from today’s shoot whilst I have the time.
The shoot today went so well … I am absolutely chuffed to bits. For the whole 2 hours I had the knowledge of Russ (russfreeman) and Sarah (Artemis_D5), and Sarah also helped me with posing, direction and getting some more oil on to Sharon It was such a relaxed environment that I felt I could take my time getting the images I wanted. I learnt More >
Body Paint Rehearsal – “Silent Hill” tribute
Feb 27th
I was very privileged to be invited to Stroud College to take some behind the scenes images of the students practising for their upcoming model day.
The students were practising their body painting and special effects on models for the upcoming “Underworld” shoot at Cheltenham Film Studios.
This is the students take on the nurse from Silent Hill – not an exact re-creation, but based on the theme. Here are the results – what do you think?
A busy day in the cold
Feb 27th
I nearly had a mini heart attack just now! I woke up and thought the clock said 1200 when I was supposed to be half way to Bristol by then….. luckily, it was actually 0800, so my heart is starting to slow down again now.
So, I am off for a shoot today. It will be my first location shoot and also my first 1-1 model shoot in a couple of months now. I am sure it will all coming rushing back to me, but I am a bit nervous. Thankfully, I am going to be working with a great model More >
Body Painting @ FilmPhoto – Take 1
Feb 22nd
I went to a great studio shoot today organised by Paul Trask (aka Trasky) in Cheltenham Film Studios – www.filmphoto.com. There were some great models and body artists there and the results were amazing. The star of the day for me was the uber talented and gorgeous Helen Diaz – she just makes it look so effortless.

It’s a wrap! – Spur of the moment location shoot with Jackie
Feb 22nd
A spontaneous shoot with Jackie which we arranged on Facebook at very short notice – we were driving up towards Cranham an hour or so after out first message.
The shoot took place in Cranham woods near Gloucester. A bare off camera strobe and stand were used for lighting and I mainly shot with my Sigma 105mm f2.8 macro lens. Unfortunately, I was bloody freezing when we got up there and had left my fleece at home by mistake, so I bottled out after 30 minutes and we headed back off to Gloucester and a hot cup of coffee. I am More >
Fright Night – Model shoot with Evangeline, Evesham
Feb 21st
My first shoot with Evangeline, arranged up at her place in the middle of nowhere (way past Evesham).
Eva was brilliant to work with. She had a completely different approach to anyone I have worked with before, and treated the shoot as acting rather than modelling. This was really great for me as I was desperate not to come away from this shoot with pouting/glamour images, as I wanted some dark and moody shots …. maybe something I could use as Halloween images.
Unfortunately, things have slipped a lot due to work and holidays, and I still haven’t managed to edit all More >
Helen Diaz – Field of dreams
Feb 3rd
My first shoot with Helen Diaz, a model who had been at the top of my “want to work with” list for over a year. Was it worth the wait? Absolutely! Helen was a delight to work with. Not only was she a natural in front of the camera, but I learnt so much from her during the shoot and also got some pictures that I was really happy with.
